The County Controller is the auditor of the county, and state law gives it vast statutory authority to investigate not only fiscal records, but also the performance and effectiveness of government policy. It’s a data-driven position, and my background in Computer Science and experience as an Auditor will bring a critical yet underrepresented perspective to County government. The Controller also serves on various boards (including the Jail Oversight Board). A strong Controller will fight for working people and hold alleged “nonprofits” such as UPMC accountable.

The County Controller and City Controller have the statutory authority to audit their respective government agencies (belonging to the County of Allegheny or the City of Pittsburgh). Darwin Leuba is running for Allegheny County Controller.
The Pittsburgh City Controller race is also on the ballot. Your local township or borough might also have a local Auditor or Board of Auditors. Darwin is currently the elected Auditor of O’Hara Township (serving through a typically otherwise vacant Board of Auditors).

Check out Darwin’s platform for specific detail on how the Controller can win tangible results.
